About the Artist

I’ve spent most of my life paying close attention — to animals, to people, and to the small details that make a moment feel real.

My background is rooted in hands-on, detail-oriented work. Long before creating keepsake portraits, I worked in an art foundry refining sculptures, where precision, restraint, and respect for the original form mattered deeply. That experience shaped how I see art: the quiet work matters, even when it’s invisible.

Alongside my artistic work, I’ve devoted many years to animal rescue. Living closely with animals — especially those who’ve known loss, fear, or profound connection — has deeply influenced how I approach portraiture. I understand how much meaning can live inside a single expression, posture, or glance.

My work is created with care, patience, and intention. I don’t rush it, and I don’t force it. Each piece is a personal response to a specific moment, not a mass-produced image.

🎨 About the Work

These portraits are created as keepsakes — visual memories meant to be lived with, not just looked at.

I don’t begin with a fixed formula or lock each piece into a pre-defined style. Instead, I let the original photograph guide the final portrait. Some images naturally remain closer to photorealism, while others benefit from a softer painterly quality or a black-and-white sketch approach.

Throughout my life, my artistic style has leaned toward realism. I’m drawn to preserving likeness, expression, and emotional accuracy. Painterly elements are used thoughtfully — not to obscure the subject, but to enhance what’s already present.

Every portrait is individually refined with attention to color, light, and detail. No two are treated exactly the same, because no two photographs — and no two stories — are the same.

🖌️ Artistic Philosophy

I believe meaningful art begins with listening.

Rather than imposing a pre-conceived style, I respond to what the image offers. My role as the artist is to interpret — to decide what should remain untouched, what should be softened, and what deserves emphasis.

I value restraint as much as creativity. Knowing when to stop is as important as knowing what to add.

My goal is not to create something flashy or trendy, but something honest — a portrait that feels familiar, personal, and true to how you remember them.

🌱 A Note on Evolution

Art is a living practice, and my work continues to evolve — but the foundation remains the same: realism, intention, and emotional truth.

This is where my work stands now, and it’s a place I’m proud to begin.
